What is a forensic judicial locksmith?

A forensic judicial locksmith is an accredited professional who analyses, inspects and issues technical reports on locks, cylinders, doors and access systems. Their reports have legal validity before courts, insurance companies, notaries and any judicial procedure.

At S1 Locksmiths we are forensic judicial locksmiths and members of the APFC (National Association of Forensic Judicial Locksmiths), the most recognised accreditation in the sector in Spain. Our reports are accepted in civil and criminal proceedings and in insurance claims throughout Spain.

When do you need one?

  • Burglary or attempted break-in: the insurer requires a report proving the method of entry and the damage.
  • Insurance claim: an independent expert report strengthens your claim if the insurer refuses or undervalues it.
  • Court proceedings: the judge may require the opinion of a forensic locksmith.
  • Disputes between owners: lock changes without consent, unauthorised access or key disputes.
  • Security verification: a technical report certifying the security level of an installation.

The process

We assess your case by phone, carry out an on-site technical inspection (photographs, measurements and evidence), draft a detailed expert report signed and stamped by an APFC-certified forensic locksmith, and — if required — ratify it before the court. Reports are usually delivered within 3 to 5 working days across the whole province of Málaga.
